General Dating Safety Guidelines and Code of Conduct:

At Partner Up Hawaii, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all participants in our matchmaking services. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior and the principles that guide our community. We expect all members to adhere to these guidelines to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and safe during the matchmaking process and their dating experiences.

1. Respectful Communication

  • Be respectful: Communicate with others in a courteous, respectful, and considerate manner. Rude, aggressive, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Active listening: Show interest in your date’s views, opinions, and experiences. Avoid interrupting, monopolizing the conversation, or dismissing their feelings or beliefs.

  • Clear boundaries: Respect personal boundaries at all times. If someone expresses discomfort or disinterest, do not persist in the conversation or in asking them out.

2. Consent and Personal Autonomy

  • Mutual consent: Always seek clear, enthusiastic consent in all interactions, including verbal, emotional, and physical interactions. No means no, and silence or hesitation should be interpreted as a no.

  • Physical contact: Physical interaction should only happen when both parties are comfortable, and it must always be consensual.

  • Respect privacy: Do not pressure anyone to share personal details they are not comfortable discussing.

3. Honesty and Transparency

  • Be truthful: Be honest about your intentions, relationship status, and any relevant personal details. Misrepresenting yourself or lying to others is strictly prohibited.

  • Profile authenticity: Your profile and information provided to Partner Up Hawaii must reflect your true self. Misleading profiles are grounds for removal from the service.

  • No ghosting: If you’re not interested in pursuing a connection further, politely communicate this. Ghosting can hurt feelings and lead to misunderstandings.

4. Discrimination and Harassment

  • Zero tolerance for discrimination: Discriminatory behavior or language based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other personal attribute is prohibited.

  • Harassment: Any form of harassment, including unwelcome attention, offensive remarks, or invasive questioning, is strictly forbidden. This includes both online interactions and in-person meetings.

5. Safety and Security

  • Meet in public: For initial meetings, always choose a public space where you feel safe. Avoid isolated or private locations.

  • Trust your instincts: If something feels off or uncomfortable during an interaction or date, trust your intuition. You are encouraged to end the interaction if you feel unsafe.

  • Report concerns: If you experience or witness inappropriate behavior, harassment, or any violation of this code of conduct, report it immediately to Partner Up Hawaii staff.

6. Confidentiality and Respect for Privacy

  • Respect for privacy: Do not share someone’s personal information (such as phone numbers, addresses, or social media accounts) without their explicit permission.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of your matches and their private lives, both during and after your interaction.

7. No Solicitation or Fraud

  • No commercial use: Our matchmaking service is for genuine connections and relationships. Soliciting money, goods, services, or promoting businesses is strictly forbidden.
